Greetings Ardagh Bluffs Families,

We hope that everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break during the week of March 11-15!  March was a shorter month due to the break, however, we still had many wonderful activities and learning opportunities at the school. We recognized Bangladeshi and Hellenic Heritage Months, recognized World Down Syndrome Day, and participated in Earth Hour on March 22nd by dimming the lights and limiting our use of technology and electricity. Our Kindergarten team would also like to express their gratitude to everyone who participated in their Hotdog Day Fundraiser. They were able to raise $650.48, which will go directly to equipment for the Kindergarten play yard. We can’t wait for their next Hot Dog Day, which will take place on Friday, May 2rd! We would also like to thank everyone who participated in our School Council Barrie Colt’s fundraiser.  It was so wonderful to see so many families at the game together and our choir’s signing of the national anthem was a highlight of the evening. Together we were able to raise $1,332 which has been put towards technology purchases for the school.

As we move into April, we would like to highlight a variety of events and fundraisers that have been planned by our staff and School Council.  This month, as a school, we will recognize Sikh Heritage Month. On Friday, April 12th we will recognize the International Day of Pink to show our commitment to end all forms of bullying.  On Monday, April 22nd, we will recognize International Earth Day by wearing blue and/or green and Graduation Photo Retakes will take place on Monday, April 15th.  Please inform your child’s teacher if they require a retake. As a reminder, the April PA Day has been shifted from Friday, April 26th to Monday, April 8th, due to the solar eclipse.

In terms of school fundraising, please consider supporting our school through one of the following fundraising initiatives, planned and organized by our Ardagh School Council. On Tuesday, April 9th we will participate in Wendy’s Night from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at 450 Byrne Drive.  We will receive 10% of all sales from Dine In and Drive-Thru orders and will be treated to a mini-frosty by Wendy!  Please also watch for communication regarding our Bradford Greenhouse Fundraiser.  All funds raised by these initiatives will go directly back to supporting students at Ardagh.  The School Council will meet again on Wednesday, April 24 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the school library.  All parents and guardians are welcome to attend this meeting and volunteer to support the initiatives described above.

We’re looking forward to another exciting month at Ardagh!
